first impressions; Hanok village

Sorry, is this Korea or Europe??

From Insa-dong, Brooke and I headed to Bukchon Hanok village – an old-fashioned styled area with traditional Korean homes. More than a tourist area, this Hanok village is a residential section, so large tourist groups are discouraged, but you’re free to walk around. And get lost. And get tired from the constant hills. And then get lost again. Thank goodness Brooke knew where we were going.

I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Notice the hills? After getting a much-needed drink, we went to some shopping streets near the palace. I don’t remember if the area had a name…

We ate some delicious chocolate…

…and spotted a Hello Kitty café! We did NOT enter.

>>Next; the palace, and reflections
