Ginger: Relieves pain and inflammation, heartburn symptoms, menstrual cramps, acts as a flu and cold preventative, and relieves gastro-intestinal distress

Honey: Reduces ulcers, reduces healing time for burns, allergy reduction, heart stimulant, skin conditioning and moisturizing (note that some of these require topical use of honey, rather than internal)

For me, I like to make things simple and combine both with a little water to make tea. Simply slice the ginger very very thin, pop it into boiling water to steep for a bit, and add honey. Voila.
